When Heelys came out

Man when I was in elementary school it was a few years before heelys dropped and they had some other type of shoe that was in the same vein and I stg they were ridiculously heavy and took a seasoned mechanic to switch out to the wheels

Christmas morning

Having a birthday party and inviting everyone in your class before social hierarchies we’re developed

Being wrapped up in bed on Christmas Eve so excited you could barely sleep

The freedom

You don’t have to worry about money, food or place to live

You just have fun and go to school

Experiencing things for the first time that is otherwise mundane to adults. Things like flying on planes for example. Everything seems very adventurous and exciting as a kid even when it’s just stupid stuff. You could be happy for a whole week off of a trip to Burger King

Playing soccer until the sun went down, hop on bikes and ride to get slurpees from 711

My alltime favorite memory as a kid was making irl Perk-a-Cola bottles with my cousin lmao

Getting your best friend to ask your parents to sleep over, creeping from the stairway to hear them say no and then the excitement of finally getting an approval

Riding the bus home with a friend on a Friday

When the school was closed because of a snow day

Making a WHAT

Rap music got my brain warped

Omggg my mom would always say no, and then last minute be like "OK, you can go"

New foods and restaurants you'll never know the names of lol

• playing soccer and being good at it

• watching my first liverpool game

• discovering nba as a european kid

• listening to my first rap song on the radio

• renting wwe dvds

• watching samurai x and ninja scroll

• beating all your friends on marvel vs capcom or mortal kombat

• weekend cartoons

• going out for burgers and fries

• martial arts lessons and getting the s*** beat out of you till that moment of revelation that there's always someone tougher than you

TLDR: being a kid was like an adventure were everything was exciting till the routine of adulthood came knocking in the form of puberty
