if you haven’t already, you should check out asake’s last 2 albums. i’m getting similar vibes from what i’m hearing so far
Will do, thanks bro!
Pink Tape
Album actually gets worse and worse on relisten
See I loved it the week it dropped but I have not had the desire to press play again. Man should have shortened that s***.
damn that’s wassup then. i’ve been tapped in since that era so i can’t wait to listen
he's bugging imo, way more of a continuation of the Man Alive sound
great album tho
Travis so far. It's just nice beats and nothing else.
This is insane, literally his best verse of his career on this album
I got you. This year hasn’t been my favorite but here are some gems:
The Great Escape - Larry June & Alch
Fuse - Everything but the Girl
Hottest Hood Princess - Sexyy Red
Summer Breeze - Tay Iwar
Mid Air - Paris Texas
Dirty Harry - El Cousteau
Vices - Currensy x Harry Fraud
Flying High - Alch
Ganger - Veeze
Red Moon in Venus - Kali Uchis
Scarin the Hoes - JPEG x Danny
cooooool summer breeeeeeze
This is insane, literally his best verse of his career on this album
I didn’t name Utopia but it goes without saying that it’s the best mainstream rap album to drop this year.
slowthai album not getting any spins from me
Doesn’t he have tape charges or something
Maxo - Even God Has a Sense of Humor
loved the two singles leading up to it and Lil Big Man but this fell flat
Nas - Magic 2
have liked all 4 hit boy collabs but this one was a non factor from day 1
big agree on Maxo
big disagree on Nas
I know a lot of people loved these ones and for me they weren’t even “bad”, just letdowns. But Tony Shhnow’s Love Streak and Navy Blue’s Ways of Knowing were two projects I had really high hopes for that just didn’t hit like I’d hoped
are people really boilling down utopia to “a kanye tribute album” god people are such walking zombies
Pink Tape

It’s still his best album as well. He really is only palatable in small doses

His worst studio album by a large margin
Pink Tape isn't as bad as most are saying ITT, it's just a lil bloated and had WAY too much of a wait. I always say artists shoot themselves in the leg with the waiting s***
they think they building hype but what they really building is the chances of a letdown. If pinktape was grails and a few other songs, 10 tracks, and came out within 6 months of him announcing it it woulda been WAY better received.
I defintiely thought by the title and the lead single that Almost Healed was gonna steer in a new direction tbh :/
Almost Healed was disappointing
Utopia shoulda been better than it is (its good tho)
Pink Tape is painful because there is a good project in there somewhere
Business is Business was bland and boring
Sremm4 had like 3 good songs
Rocket Power is flat and shoulda been a 5 track tribute project to Take
Pistolz & Pearlz from Kodak was so bad, where is dying to live Kodak at bro
On the other side of the coin we got a good album from Paris Texas, KAYTRAMINÉ, Don Toliver, Kali, Yves, Krule and more
was so hyped for Yves after God Is a Circle. haven't touched the album in months
same, unfortunately

Add KTT2 - Keed. Solid
I peeped this thread comments and it was…a LOT of Pink Tape (As much as I love Fire Alarm, I get it), Utopia (ppl waited years to hear a Kanye tribute album), and Kaytramine (which this hurt the most cause this was one of my most anticipated after 4EVA and idk. I know Kay dont wanna just be a “dance producer” but bro you gotta give these 90 BPM joints to a nigga like Vic Mensa or Paak.)
Also Thugger but I think people with brains understand albums like those (imo) dont really count its really a compilation album of scraps at that.
Man Vic could really be bigger if he did the house s*** like down on my luck. I really don’t understand why he didn’t hop on it like that.

You should listen to the chopped not slopped Love Streak
