Media is kinda obsessed with Drake. Even if he leaves the game the probably still be the main topic with people questioning when he will return or who he is gonna co-sign.

Wonder if anyone on this site would hate drake if his popularity dipped after NWTS.

    I’m guessing not.

  • Aug 19, 2020

It'll look different because art evolves. Music evolves. Hip hop will evolve with and without Drake.

I think Drake is a phenomenon in hip-hop. We've never had someone be so big in rap and also so big in pop, pop culture, etc. I don't think there will be anyone like him for a while, and just as his sound has heavily influenced most hip-hop today, someone will come along and change it all over again.

If Drake retires this genre is pretty much dead

Travis has a song on Tenet

    You are welcome

The genre is kinda drying up

Like 2010 came around and it was so obvious who was next up

Like now all that’s left really is Young Thug and Uzi as new leaders

The problem is that neither of these guys make music that’s as personable as Drake or Kendrick. There isn’t a great rappity rapper protege our there with a great story to tell. Half the interesting new talent died young too.

    Polo G out now

  • Aug 19, 2020

    It's gonna be good AGAIN.

    F*** numbers.

  • Aug 19, 2020

To be fair @op the decade is just getting started, there are plenty of new waves coming up in the underground but the future sound isn’t very clear, there will definitely be more international rap superstars as foreign rap scenes are gettting more popular

Btw don’t sleep on Toronto we got some fire ass artists

Drake’s successor hasn’t blown up yet.

Statistically it could end up being someone most people joke about a lot like Russ

    NEW EQUITY

    Jack Harlow most likely

Nah Russ. He has good melodies and he writes and produces his s***s. His shows sell out. He has ridiculous plaque certifications. Other countries love him. Memes and jokes made about that nigga live on. Shows support to black causes and has black leading ladies in most of his videos.... why not Russ
