not to kill your dreams but it is almost impossible to become "pro" aka make your money off chess in tournaments especially if you're starting late

out of every GM a very small % make their money off chess tournaments

maybe you could teach...or stream... coach...

I've been playing on and off since 1st grade, it's a great game but very unforgiving to those who are into it in a financial sense lol

That’s where you’re wrong. I grew up playing chess under the guidance of many high level unknown chess GM’s in Sri Lanka (father was military)

This isn’t a fad nor did I “start late”

I eat, sleep and breathe chess. I’ll remember this post when I dethrone Nakamura and Giri

man but if you're in your 20's and not a GM the odds aren't just against you they're almost non-existant

I couldn't even begin to come up with a prediction for his first move, because even if I sat there and tried to concoct the best move my braincould comprehend, "Oklama" would no doubt find a way to shift the entire chess board in a way none of us ever thought possible and basically "break" the entire game's rules in one fell swoop, haha. So yeah pretty much, nothing I say could do justice.
