Weezy is my goat. Funeral was cool. I expect nothing of him cause it’s hard 30 years in.
But Here’s what I’d do:
Re-record any songs worth keeping where his voice is froggy and cracked out
Pick a classic producer preferably STREETRUNNER and do 10 songs.
Stop rapping about your crack den and running through women and smoking crack all day. S*** is so played out and wasn’t cool to begin with.
Surprise us for once! When I hear the lighter flick I don’t want to hear the same old s***.
Make songs like Mahogany but at the highest level of perfection.
More songs like Harden. Less crack addict voice.
Hooks are important. You used to be the master of it. Do it again.
Bully rappers some more. That was one of his best characteristics.
Don’t let tez or Mack make you add any lame features. Again surprise us. Put us onto someone dope.
Pay someone to make artwork that’s worthy of a hip hop goat.
Lastly,
Leave us with something to talk about. Say something important, meaningful, deep, introspective, new.
Don’t wrap up your best thoughts into a dumb punchline.
wayne needs a run of collab albums with producers like how curren$y does a lot of his tapes
hes getting older
hes a legend
he doesnt need to be "popular" anymore
This
Nothing to prove, we all know he can snap if he want to
Mans been in it 30 years, he’s a legend. Doesn’t need to prove anything I’ll always check on new music
that's not a high standard to pass lol
Id put the D6 tapes up against 98% of Wayne projects tbh loved those way underrated
definitely an album below 20 songs
like 18 at most but 14-16 would be ideal
and they need to be picked by some curator who helps wayne long time with the album
a young thug feat would be nice
still have interest and love for wayne though but this would definitely make me more hyped and the output would surely be better
Kanye beats and his 2008 voice
He has some great work with autotune
He forgot how to use it
Like I don't get these older rappers (Mainly from 2000's) who are still dropping these sappy pop-rap songs
They confused just like the R&B singers who switched to EDM and are now confused
If this nigga got interesting beats, interesting subject matter, better hooks. Idk, can't really see myself getting excited for anything Wayne does.
