Wasn’t really my point tho, ofc the ghostwriter s*** hurt him in the long run but if Views was undeniable both musically and Drake in terms of his substance and rapping than it wouldn’t have mattered as much.

Quality is quality and Views just wasn’t what the hype promised us it would be, so people considered it lackluster from day 1. It has some gems, and it does have hits.. but I feel like most of us expected him to really “take over” from a hiphop perspective. He ended up taking over but in a pop type lane and it hurt the album imo

What’s the point of all that power when all it takes to get between you and your career partners is a woman? It just doesn’t seem natural that you can go so far and make so much money with someone in a 10+ year relationship and there not be an ounce of trust or loyalty there. Sad case all around these rappers don’t need Grammies they need therapy

him trying pop ended up hurting this project, I agree with that, I remember when that slightly "dark" sound called Views From The 6ix (Days in The East type s***) leaked, damn, that sound created a mega aura for the album, but I believe that what it would be The “Views From The 6” ended up being IYRTITL and Views (2016) cut more towards the pop side as you said.
