2013 - This was in the midst of the NWTS rollout as it was on the brink of dropping within months, it was the first and only time he would perform songs like Girls Love Beyonce, 5AM in Toronto, The Motion.

To this day I still think this was the most stacked guest list to touch down on the OVO Fest stage. The one everyone will remember was when he unexpectedly brought out Kanye at OVO Fest for the first time amidst their Cold War and deaded any tensions, it’s still one of my most unexpected guest appearances at a show and seeing my two GOATs share the stage cemented this as the GOAT OVO Fest. Followed that up by bringing out another OG in Wayne, surprising everyone by getting him past borders on such short notice.

To continue the trend he reunited TLC & Mase + Puff on stage for the first time in years. You’d think this was catered to all the old heads from seeing those names but he didn’t neglect the younger fans either bringing out a slew of his classmates in Cole, Weeknd, Rocky, Sean, Wale, Miguel. The only L was Frank Ocean cancelling as an opener last minute, could only imagine how much more GOATed this night would’ve been.

2012 - Holds a special place in my heart cause it was my first one and the novelty of seeing it all unfold live instead of online made everything so surreal. I think captured lightning in a bottle with the openers which stand as the most stacked openers lineup for an OVO Fest. He got Rocky & Abel on the brink of stardom and 2 Chainz in the midst of a historic resurgence

Most memorable moment was Drake bringing out French to do Stay Schemin and Pop That, this was when the records were still fresh and had the whole crowd singing word for word.

2017 - This was the first OVO Fest back at the Molson Amphitheatre after it was held at the ACC as part of the Summer Sixteen tour the previous year. More Life had just dropped earlier in the year and this would be the first time a lot of the records would be performed live. Gyalchester was the hottest record from the project and seeing the whole city going crazy to it was cathartic.

What really elevated this year’s Fest was the scale of the stage design. Drake always had extravagant stages for OVO Fest but this was the year he really took it that next level with the CN Tower replica.

Guest list for this year is another one of the most stacked in the Festival’s history. He ended the Cold War with two of the city’s biggest names in The Weeknd and Tory. Featured Cardi who was in the midst of breaking out into supe om performing the song of the summer at the time (Bodak Yellow), another breakout star in Carti who had Magnolia buzzing. He had a mini OVO showcase with Roy Woods, Majid Jordan, DVSN & PND all having mini sets during his. All this in addition to bringing out Travis, Migos, Rae Sremmurd, Nelly, French.

This was the first OVO Fest and I don’t think anyone had expectations for this to be what it ended being. Not only did this man bring Eminem out of hiding, he doubled down and brought out the GOAT himself. From this moment on I knew OVO Fest was a must attend event.

2015 will always be the one that got away from me, has the moment iconic OVO Fest moment to this day with him opening with Back to Back against the backdrop of memes during the peak of the Meek beef

That feeling in the crowd and the energy when he came out to back to back that year is one I’ll never forget

Seeing Up All Night and HYFR live last night were my favorite two moments of the whole show. Blew my mind.

Great summary those are all definitely on my list. I’ve been to every Ovo Fest except the second year. I’d also include the giant NBA trophy stage in 2019 and getting Chris Brown across the border to perform No Guidance complete with the dance moves. Also having Outkast reunion tour headline Day 1 was pretty awesome.

Worst was definitely this last one. Started so late after everyone being exhausted from the heat, not to mention the quick cancellation/postponed show. And they stopped selling alcohol pretty much as soon as the show started. I seen the crowd dying out, and everyone f***ing thirsty in 40° evening

How bout as a spectator?

Man me and my best friend sat through the slight rain the night before for j Cole who was incredible. Made me such a bigger fan of his.
And then the charged up entrance and back 2 back was insane lol. Hype levels off the charts. Him surprise bringing out Kanye and the way he introduced him saying something along the lines of “when your idols become your friends” was crazy and then like one of Kanye’s biggest hits came on
