I need some suggestions.
I’m so close to buying FFX again because it’s on discount.
Any other suggestions for the PS5?
Not an RPG, but if you like strategy games, give Battle for Wesnoth a try. I love that game. It's only on PC or mobile, tho.
If you said PC I would've instantly recommended Hylics 1 and 2. The most unique and personally best JRPG's I've played ever.
Nier Automata, Final Fantasy 12, Dragon Quest 11, The Witcher 3
also Elden Ring and all the Souls games
for ps5, tales of arise is a good choice
Played and completed it! Loved it
Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster is great if you wanna play it on your computer or phone.
Also recommend Triangle Strategy if you like SRPGs. If you find it too complicated at first then just do Final Fantasy Tactics.
Shin Megami Tensei V probably my favorite JRPG to drop last year. Simple mechanics, difficulty that keeps you going back for more. Characters are a bit bare bones but the world is fascinating and the way you traverse around is entertaining to me.
Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Fire Emblem, Shin Megami Tensei 3.
Adding up to this, if u have never played Fire Emblem op, start with one of 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14 or 3 houses
Wanted to say this because starting with the first one in the NES is crazy
4 is the best tho
FFX is the best FF op you would not make a bad choice playing it again Might need to make this move myself no cap
I also recommed YS VII, Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days and back up everyone here saying to play an SMT game

You know if Disco Elysium on the Switch is any good? I know they been pushing that back for a minute and it's the deluxe that dropped. I'm sure I should probably just cop the PC version if I'm worried about performance but I prefer playing RPGs on handhelds forreal ease of access and ability to pick up and play anytime/anywhere is crucial for me or else I'll never finish them lol

It was a s***show on release but it’s a lot better now. Occasional crashes for some ppl and longer load times, still a great way to play the game tho perfect game for playing handheld

Even on PS5 Disco Elysium has frame rate dips so I’d just go for the switch version, it won’t be perfect but no console version seems to be
Also the game is mostly lots of text and choosing dialogue so you’re not missing out on 4k or anything

That's the other part too I know it borrows heavily from adventure/text-based games so I figured that'd work best on handheld. S***, playing the Persona games on PSP and Vita made me realize them visual novel ass games make so much sense on a handheld because they're pretty much books. Perfect for long commutes. Can't imagine playing them s***s on a computer or home console.
