    What’s a producer usually do?

    Like this dude

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Dukes

    He writes, produces, executive produced

What’s the difference and if you produce a song what’s the breakdown between

    • Artist
    • feat artists
    • song writers
    • beat producer
    • actual “producer”
    • other hangers on

It’s annoyjng how “producers” are sometimes just the guy who made the beat VS producer the guy who basically manages and owns the song?

The artist pays for the beat/feature or both. If the song is commercially successful, the producers and featured artist also receive a percentage.

Even people who give a vision to the record that’ll be created like that Frank dude gets a percentage. If you look through album credits you’ll see so many people listed as writers or producers. Just adding a little drum kit gives you a credit or fixing grammar errors. I’ve read somewhere a couple years ago that you can be sued if you don’t put an writer in the credits that helped write a song.

But obviously they don’t receive as much as the artist, producer or featured artist

fr. people always go back to the hype videos of ppl like murda in the studio with big names. but behind the scenes they probably just cracking out beats in front of their laptop. its pretty dreadful
