DJ Hed said he isn’t making the same song again. So GNX 2, GNX rebooted, etc isn’t happening IMO What does a Kendrick, who is unquestionably the leader of rap, sound like after this era?
My dream of course would be to take it back to the roots and boom bap it up but I’m not sure he will do that?
Can he build a world like say Abel and get into that bag, go full blues and croon over those instruments, a live album maybe. I don’t know what do you think?
Depends on what his experiences impart on him
I think these last two albums showed us that we can’t predict what the next album sounds like. Rather, we should be asking “if Kendrick dropped an album now, what would be inspiring him?” which is hard to answer as is considering his relatively private life
In that interview with Timmy he talked about how he now feels confident enough to put a track like Man at the Garden near the front of the record, a song that he feels deeply connected with.
That alone could be an indication of what he does next.
Glam rock

i think due to the beef, GNX was the only predictable album sonically, cause everyone had a feeling he was gonna go with west coast sounds
Amapiano
Kendrick usually goes back and forth between an album that has some mainstream appeal and an album that is left in terms of sound or subject matter
GKMC, DAMN, GNX
TPAB, Mr. Morale
I would probably guess he makes the pivot left again, so something more along the lines of TPAB, Mr. Morale. But I don't know how the beef affects that
i want a hillbillies esque album tbh
LP exclusively produced by DJ Quik, Madlib, Hitboy and Battlecat is what I want
:
We do not need Hit Boy with that much power over a Kendrick album lol
that rock album they said he was supposed to make
Honestly idc to predict
Trying to predict what hes gonna do is always annoying bc its not even like something radically shocking its just like oh yeah i didnt think of that as a possibility

Truth. We had immense context and the playing field is open now
Will he grapple with a guilt of falling into this an obsession with this beef? Will he try and just call it an end? Will here be pride? Is there something else happening in his life? Idk!

Kendrick x Boogie Down Productions if we’re talking boom bap roots
Hopefully music to get b****es to
if your ability to get b****es is dependent on what music you play you not that guy
i think he’s going to make another mainstream sounding album instead of going leftfield. something thats a true follow up to DAMN.
mr morale is going to be an outlier in terms of the last few years because of where he was at mentally. even then that album had a lot of mainstream cuts.

Yeah if I had a say this is what I would want
Just make another smash, would love to see him work with artist from outside of cali that he likes
he's gonna try to keep the mainstream momentum going
Hopefully music to get b****es to
That’s what R&B, Afrobeat and Amapiano is for bruh lol
I’m never expecting a rapper to set a vibe around women.

i think the more "logical" assumption is to imagine him continuing to lean on mainstream appeal songs. I feel like it would get tricky for him, if he went back to a more lowkey conceptual album, cause people are gonna question his whole battle for the top spot and wanting to become the #1, so it would be interesting to see. I dont think its concerning, but kendrick proved himself that he can make hits songs with much more edge to it

Fart in the mic
We boutta get that album that dj was talking about had a track with Taylor Swifty
if your ability to get b****es is dependent on what music you play you not that guy
I’m satirizing that mindset
