Man that's so interesting, Scott 3 is probably my least fave of the s/t albums but your post has made sure I'm gonna give it another spin tonight, it's a weird one in that almost every track is in waltz time, takes some getting used to

Scott 2 and 4 are my faves of his early stuff, the guy nails sleazy European brothel vibes as well as genuinely horrifying subject matter but his later insane albums are what I admire the most. Tilt is this severe art rock masterpiece, The Drift is a genuinely terrifying look at evil over the course of human history, and Bish Bosch is this absurd lovecraftian comedy, literally no one has done it like him before or since

He really changed the way I look at music, I love the way that his more recent albums just don't flow at all, with these big blocks of composition that just go after each other without attempting to link them, it made me realise how effective sound alone can be at creating narratives, he was following no rules but his own

If you want to get into his Walker Brothers stuff, they have some really great 60s pop tracks, but their reunion album Nite Flights has 3 solo tracks by each member on it, and Scott's offer the first hints of his later style, The Electrician is a bone-chilling masterpiece about CIA torture in South America that I can't recommend enough if you've not listened yet
