regarding work, i feel like albeit cliche and not nearly the same, photoshop and video editing is a great place to start with plenty of “business” world application while also still being able to use it for passion and fun.

True! I didn't even think of that because I was thinking more of "traditional" art like drawing or painting, but photoshop, video editing, graphic design, etc is a great idea as well. So I do think it's good that she has a passion for art and she should pursue it, but she should pursue it: just in this short exchange we've each come up with a few potential things she could do, and I'm sure she's thought of all of these and more, so really she just has to actually do stuff and try things out, see what she likes, what works, what paths open up, and keep going from there.
