Always do new things so you’re always making new regrets and you don’t linger on any one regret too much

i am oh so happy i come from a loving and tight knit family. and never will i wish i had the opposite. but the opposite, and specifically the voidness of having to really answer to somebody, or live up to somebodies expectations, has to be a tad blissful.

biggest regret i ever have of my parents is actually not forcing things upon me MORE. they pride themselves in not doing this, but christ, i wish they had. some people see it as the opposite, and want to go against whatever their parents tell them. and when i was younger, that probably would have been true too. but now i just WISH they had. there are ways to steer your child to success without alienating them.
