Really am in the darkest point of my life. Using this as an outlet because I don’t want to talk to anyone in person about it.

Please pray for me and my family (down so bad saying this as an atheist)

We choose to give value to so many arbitrary things. You gain some freedom once you realize you can control what matters to you and not base your priorities and concerns on common consensus.

@CutiePieHole thread is deleted but i written up a whole thing so here. i do raise dogs.

doggy school is not you and it can only go so far, you still have to do specific things

your dog is doing that to you because it either sees you as a competitor or not trustworthy enough.

just talking general here since i dont know the full extent of your training or life so dont take what i say as an insut - ive also raised dozens of dogs of more aggressive breeds suchj as pitts, rotts, huskies and german shepards:

you should have been feeding your dog directly, let it see your in front of it and the food, and do the same when its done - thats how you create trust and a routine

food is the number 1 thing mosr animals will be "animalistic" over, including cats, which i raise bengal cats as well

you have to instill trust that your literal hand and self is not a threat

so full example: when the dogs i raise are bout to eat i give them the bowl directly in whatever place i feed them. You usually want one or at most two spots that is routine for them to eat. Lets say kitchen corner, and then second can be outside or your room etc.

But anyways i do right in front of their face with a cup and move the bowl to them. that way they see and get used to your hand being the norm and not a threat.

then after they eat i take it in front of them again - same reason.

but, while theyre eating,l eave them alone fully. Again, its instilling youre not a competitive threat & that you both are respecting each others spaces. if you do need to "interrupt" thrm and their food to rganize, move or add more or whatever, make sure your dog is alerted to you first, and show them that youre moving or adding etc. right in front of them. talk to them and pet them, again, reinsurance. again, doing this while theyre very young will again, instill youre not a threat and its part of your routine in your and its relationship.

you want to start doing this when theyre less than a year old, never get a dog (unless you know what youre doing) that is a year+ already. and do this all the time. the only time i dont do this is when i have to leave or whatever for some time. but thats not the norm. you have to create the norm.

even when i feed them straight up meat, i show that its in mine hand, get them to sit or calm down, then feed the first piece from my hand then i leave the rest on the floor. youre showing trust, and respecting space. and its will make your dog way more loyal and literally respectful towards you. they are smart enough to recognizie two way respect (same with cats and horses). but dogs also need routine and a pattern.

when a dog is 2 to 3 thats when theyre "grown" and become more set in their ways and grow fully into their instinctual habits on top of what they already know and been trained.

youre dog might be too old now that its kinda too late and you just have to work arounds it. but sometimes it can still work in their semi late years especially if you catch it right away as a new habit.

do what i said for a few months. your dog might growl but its fine and if you do truly trust your dog it shouldnt be an issue. and then your dog should trust you a lot more in this instance by the end of the year. but do not do the part of interrupting them to move or whatever because you have to build basic trust first.

now of course if you feel like your dog is a danger in this particular part of the day, youre going to have just leave food food for your dog and leave them completely alone while they eat so there is no accident or if you feel too uncomfortable. and thats just the way it is, but if the behavior is fresh enough and caught early then you still have a chance.

Ya i thought i was doing the right thing just by sending him to doggy school, i always walk past him while hes eating he doesnt do anything but look at me i could pet him and s***. Lately he just been hostile though and i shouldve focused more on him when he was eatting and his behavior. Thanks for this, i probably wont adopted another dog under 1 years old after this smh
