Growing up in the 00s i feel like internet, for example, was taken less seriously. People were just minding their bussiness in their own corner of the web; there wasn't this urge to monitor and judge everything. Now the stupidest thing can be misinterpreted and blown out of proportion, you see it everyday on twitter.

It wasn’t possible before the ubiquity of wifi and smart phones. It was just an occasional tabloid that would blow up into a “career suicide” as they used to call it.

The internet was soooo lit back when I first started using it before corporations figured it out, tried to monetise everything & fine tune algorithms w/ their bs
