Okay so my dad is the most frugal person I’ve ever met. Like it couldn’t be more

So currently he just uses the powder stuff that you mix with the water directly I’m pretty sure

  • I wanna buy him some s*** that makes the best coffee and is easy to use

  • I want a full automatic one that have a bunch of options to make coffees with

  • get him a women

Honestly for something like this I would 100% Google “Best coffee machine Reddit” and just read through the responses. There’s a lot of different answers based on different needs and there’s truly no better place than a coffee subreddit to give you the information you’re looking for

True I forgot about Reddit. Seems like gaggia academia is the best and most long lasting. Might get that one

If you’re gonna do espresso at home save for a machine in the 1200-1800 range

    It will be noticeably better

If you want everything done automatically and you don’t want to do the work to pull the shot then get a Breville Barista Touch for 1.1k

  • if you want the best drip coffee, get a Moccamaster. they’re handmade and high quality, built for life with easy access to repair parts.

The best truly is Rancilio brand. My family has had one for almost 20 years and works as well as the day we got it.
Make sure you buy the one that uses a regular outlet and not a refrigerator outlet, unless you have one available.
Might be over you budget though but check it out, it’s the real deal

If you don’t need mean espresso and just drip coffee, the best isn’t very expensive it’s called a vac pot. Google it. It’s the best because no matter how expensive regular drip coffee machines are the plastic or metal will stain with the taste of coffee and ruin the drink. A vac pot is all glass, you should get a glass filter for it too.

What determines the most with drip coffee is the beans and if they were roasted in the last 2 weeks, coffee beans are only good really after 2 or 3 weeks.
This matters with espresso too but you got to have the good machine to go with it.

I’ve worked in coffee shops and so has my sister, I was taught how to make coffee by this guy who’s boss flew to Italy to get some certification and I’ve been roasting my own coffee beans for almost 20 years. I turned down my friend giving me the money to open a coffee shop. I know a lot about it. Rancilio is the best brand @Op

Certainly not the absolute BEST option, but I picked up the Ninja Luxe Cafe yesterday and I think it's a really solid pick. I really enjoy espresso (lattes) and especially cold brew and it can do both of those (along with iced coffee, regular drip coffee, and iced pressed espresso). Pretty much does everything for you so it's kinda hard to f*** it up.

Retail is $500, but I got it for $450 off of Ninja's website and had Best Buy price match it. From what I gather, the value on this is INSANE and I don't think I'd disagree. Definitely seemed like the obvious choice, especially at that price.
