Dawn FM the only album that actually achieves the 80s sound without sounding cheap. VST emulations can only take you so far
What’s the appeal to the Weiland album? This site clowned Weeknd for the 80s thing but praised this. His vocals sound really really low and mixed horribly. The beats sound like YouTube mp3 rips and the stuff I’d make on GarageBand 3 years ago
It’s clear he had a vision but it was executed really poorly I can’t see actual comparisons to Dawn FM. It’s almost disrespectful to him lol
Dangerous Woman is unironically better than anything on DawnFM btw

The production on Vices is literally 10/10 but idek how people are getting past those god awful vocals. Literally the only thing holding me back from wanting to listen to it more.

Ari discog absolutely washes Abel’s, he doesn’t have a project as good as thank u next

Weiland album was the most raw and authentic
Weeknd probably had the most polished and best one overall
Tory album was just good with a couple of great songs

thank u next is rancid even bbtm better and that’s rancid too
just get rid of 80s influenced synthpop at this point s*** sounds like a halloween costume now they’re not doing anything other than nostalgia baiting
