My choice would be Tonight’s the night due to its sadder and more despondent attitude. I just gravitate towards that type of music. Rust Never Sleeps would be second followed by After the Gold Rush.
How about y’all ?
After The Gold Rush. Perfect
I would probably agree it’s the most consistently excellent record he has for sure
On the Beach is my favorite
Great record to me but just never vibe with it like the others I listed. I certainly seem to be on the outside looking in on it tho. Most ppl consider it within his top 2
Tonight’s the Night
Everybody Knows This is Nowhere - personal favorite
Zuma
Homegrown
On the Beach
Harvest Moon
Every live album, like everyone of them crazy stuff
NY probably Top 1 fr. Check out the new unreleased, Toast, if you haven’t with Crazy Horse that finally came out after twenty years. S*** is groovy
Harvest Moon creeping up in my rankings too
From Hank to Hendrix, I walked these streets with you

Read somewhere that the tracklist got messed up upon pressing the vinyl, side A became side B and vice versa. I like to start in the middle and have it loop back. Sounds crazy but it might change your experience

ill keep that In mind
tbh I've always felt like his live performance albums are better than his studio albums
I prefer just Neil and his guitar over Neil with studio production

Used to feel that way too. Rush Never Sleeps and Live Rust were definitely what made me a fan

Love the live albums. You can listen to two live sets from the same era, same tracklist, and their entirely unique in their own right man has the sauce
COME ON BABY LET'S GO DOWNTOWN
smh whenever a Neil thread pops up I gotta go on a marathon listen. Fuck Spotify
My my hey hey out of the blue off Rust never sleeps is probably my favorite Neil track period
