I was on the PS Store and saw a good chunk, if not all the FF games are on sale. I saw that FFVIII was on sale and I’m very interested since I’ve never played it. Although, FF has many games that are polarizing, but besides FFXV, the one that gets it the most is FFVIII
So to the people who have played VIII, is it worth playing in 2021?
FF Games I’ve played for reference:
FFIV (Never Finished)
FFVI
FFVII
FFX
FFXII (Never Finished)
FFXIII
FFXV
FFVII Remake
Just cop it and get Lionheart on disc 1
Fall in love with Triple Triad, then subscribe to FFXIV and play it there against NPCs and real people
you talking about the remaster? if so then that’s a obvious cop. yeah it’s one of the more controversial/polarizing entries in the series, but that means it’s probably more interesting than a lot of the others.
i just downloaded it the other day cuz i saw it was on Gamepass, and i’ve only played an hour but it’s dope so far.
imo if you enjoyed the old school FF you’ve played and the new ones too, there’s no reason you shouldn’t enjoy VIII
i'm actually gonna start 8 some time soon as well. just know that the combat is a bit different than others in terms of the junction/draw mechanic.
i'd take a look at that to get an idea of how it works. from what i've seen, it's not explained very well in game.

It isn’t it. It’s fun when you get used to it but I never used magic like that
VIII is one of those games where people either love it (me) or hate it. No inbetween.
