Does he ACTUALLY know how to play? Like for someone who doesn’t play, a video like this would be enough proof

I've been playing guitar since I was a kid so I guess I can speak on it.

This is one of those solos you rip when you know one scale and aren't sure what key you're in. Just hammer ons/pull offs with the same notes over and over but run through a pedal so it sounds cool. He does some tremolo picking at 1:02 to sound like he can shred but it's really not adding anything melodically, it's just bullshit notes. The lick he attempts at 1:25 is totally dissonant, it's like he's not even playing along with the song. The best thing I can say is that he looks cool playing a beginner solo.

So yeah it's bad but I've heard worse from people who wear guitars and pretend to play.
