You’d be surprised honestly, majority of people in Montreal speak English too and as for having to speak French for work it really depends on the job/industry. I have multiple friends who work software/tech in Montreal who speak no French. If your job is customer facing you’ll definitely need it but otherwise it just depends where you’re working at.
