I grew up around it, might just be a cultural thing where only a minority of outsiders can enjoy it. I like it but it is way too samey. I have the same criticism of reggae tho- both genres whose listeners are committed to convention to a fault.

If I were you, I would stay away from Bro Country. It's the weakest out of the ones I listed. Guys like Kane Brown and Florida Georgia Line are under that and I guarantee you probably have heard one of their songs before lol.

Psychedelic. Country is cool tho. You should check out the group Flying Burrito. They're probably one of my favs out of that sub genre. Willie Nelson too

90’s 00’s country had way more heart and was less redneck and more pop
Rascal flatts is one of the most talented groups to me. The singer is absolutely incredible

Also realized there’s a lot of black country artists these days
There’s a playlist on Apple Music specifically for black country artists

That’s a problem since guys like Sturgill, Isbell, Colter, Jinx, Childers, Hank III, etc have quality music
