rvi@op i think virality in multiple aspects help her music get exposed to people (memes/memorable lyrics, unique appearance). And then i guess people just kept listening because they ended up liking it and her persona a lot. A few collabs helping too
Not trying to say shes just all meme or anything i guess you could rephrase it as expert marketing if you want. And she took advantage of a lack of other big new rappers rising up too
Personally not a fan
People itt keep mentioning memorable lyrics but are yet to post to them itt.
Maybe she did take advantage of the lack of new superstars but she had yet to drop album and is already the next big thing.
At least some one like Pop had a bubbling song, a mixtape and a Travis feat before blowing up and even he didn’t reach that high that Ice Spice did.

Ice Spice is one of the most boring rappers I’ve ever heard.
Her voice is too monotone that it sounds like she just woke up.
Her lyrics are typical p**** rap.
And she doesn’t even have the charisma to make up for it in her interviews.
The red wig is the only thing that makes her stand out but other than that she’s just ass (no pun intended).
she’s cute and people don’t wanna be looked at as washed and/or misogynistic so everyone just goes with it
But you’re not wrong. She’s bad even for the type of rapper she is lol. Beats and her appearance save her but I guess there are worst problems in the rap game
