I think Taylor just proved that saying "it's not your fault you deserve better" over and over again to white girls is the best way to sell money, because when these girls turn 30 they'll still need to hear that s***
the sad boy aesthetic works well but you have to quickly become either an loser artist, way into conspiracy theories, or extremely fashionable (or a junkie). In other words, be a tad self-destructive.
i think the least lucrative would be the rapper that only raps about how good he is at rapping. i feel like it's not enough to make listeners engage anymore. at least not outside of youtube comments.
i wish there was a realistic game where you can manage artists tbh that s*** becoming more fascinating than the music to me.
hope that s*** makes sense to somebody
nerdy white college chick raps faster than eminem (gone sexual)
i mean, future proved that saying that s*** to men is lucrative too but plenty hoes listening to him so idk
Making an aesthetic out of not doing well
you mean like the second type in OP or something different
indie band lead singer who sounds effeminate
i think you just cracked kpop
Just make good music. I listen to albums that people actually play. And you actually hear it. You know, driving your car you hear another car playing it. Go to the barber shop, you hear them playing it. You know, turn the radio on, and you hear them playing it. It's playing everywhere - it's called great music. It's called albums that you actually hear the songs. Not no mysterious s***, and you never hear it.

nah, as in making it fashionable instead of how you described it; glamorizing addiction/depression/etc.
Trilogy/Kiss Land Weeknd is an example of this, the amount of people on here that freaked out when he went Pop in 2015 was partially because they couldn't live through his music anymore; but the people that were in to him were fashionable/hip despite the self destructiveness that comes with the lifestyle imo
Early 1975 is like this as well, XXXtentacion too

His pop music is the same content tho
@op lol s*** like this was always fascinating to me too
backpack/lyrical rapper when it’s in season or street rapper who can exist outside of the mainstream forever like boosie or pre prison gucci. basically anything you can do over and over on a small budget
Making an aesthetic out of not doing well
This also. This can range from trilogy weekend to kid cudi saved my life

yeah that's what I meant by fashionable/junkie. encouraging self-destructive behaviour. I feel like dj akademiks of all people made a video on that very subject pertaining to kid cudi in like `11

idk, depends on if you're the artist or the label
Labels make more off of a self-destructive artist that's really living that life because it's an intense story to watch for fans. and then in the likely event of the artist dying at their peak popularity, whoever owns the rights to their music can milk their likeness, unreleased music, and overall impact forever. see 2Pac, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, JuiceWRLD, XXXTENTACION, even Mac Miller.
but the artists just suffer and die. so its not the best for the artist
Generic pop artists with a consistent message of general positivity and empowerment sell well too but you usually have to be white or white passing tbh. Self Destruction sells equally in all backgrounds
If you can play the sensitive thug role in both R&B and rap and make good music, your guaranteed a lucrative career tbh
It's called femcel music
Taylor Swift laid the blueprint and Olivia Rodrigo followed suit
A game like that would be sick
like soccer management games
