Ask a 50 year old white woman if they respect Hip-Hop or Country music more. The majority of the US population is still white middle-aged people.

Country is non-evolutionary as hell and mostly derivative so eh. It gets a lot of rightful dislike. Every other genre as popular has evolved much more and pushed way more boundaries.
Yep. Hip Hop still gets a bad rep from millions of people. Even mainstream media and TV still make fun of it.
