He drops an album every week, no promo, no rollout nothing.
He never does any interviews and constantly deletes his social media
He barely does features with other big rappers
He doesn’t get much (positive) media coverage aside from Akademiks
Yet he’s this big (pause) and his fanbase is ready to kill you over him
And how come he can drop wheneve he feels like it?
He's been the heart of the hood for about 4 years now. Emotional rap always connects with people the most. DMX, Pac, Boosie, etc. He's the golden child of hip-hop right now
my brother fyohaircut losing sleep asking himself why nba youngboy is allowed to drop that often
If his stuff is just commercial mixtapes, then I think the label might not care because it wouldn't fill his contractual obligations. He's also just an unorthodox artist whose fanbase uses different platforms than the average listener, so that might play into it
this s*** hurt to watch

That seems right, labels don’t care cause it saves them money on roll outs, shooting expensive videos, promoting the album. Label probably loves youngboy for this reason.
suburban bible belt middle and high schoolers are obsessed with him
The hood loves youngboy
