cole is at heart just a hip hop fan and regardless of the context of how, figured out this was deeper than writing rhymes and showing off. there's some bittterness toward kendrick im sure but cole is still a humble dude at heart and has no reason to have the seething hatred drake & kendrick have for each other. he definitely looks weak as s*** but in reality he had no reason to be involved. he clearly cares about rap as a sport primarily (regardless of what you think of his skill level)
As much as we like to clown on Jermaine he really is the smartest man in this entire beef
This s*** must be mentally exhausting for both Kendrick & Drake (more so for Drake than Kendrick)
tbh i think this is fun for Kendrick
him talking about this in future interviews is gonna be insane
gonna sound like some "where were you when JFK died" s***
He made the right choice by bowing out but that doesn’t absolve him from not only partially instigating this but also dropping a lukewarm diss track attached to a project and then walking it back live in front of 52k people at his home festival

i want to see what cole does from here fr
i feel like hes gonna have some type of retrospective track about this on his next project ambigiously written as two friends fighting or something (which will be clowned heavily as corny inevitably)
Nice s***post but J cole is lookin fine after this.
"revisionism" is different from people changed their opinions because people tend to be reactionary without really thinking about things

Maybe he’ll get some grace from Kendrick and be able to still have relative standing because it seems like there’s no telling how far Drake is about to slide in the public perception once all this settles. I just know he needs to dead all the best rapper alive nobody can f*** with me talk

i hope that instead of the drake effect where beef makes the album right after sound paranoid and worse it makes fall off better and less heavy on stupid s*** like the gun bars he been on recently
Cole said some s*** on 7 min drill. Talmbout dot wants something with him now...like why is you a b****
I don't think it's revision, but moreso people seeing how the beef is turning out and it confirmed some of what cole was saying in his speech
Kendrick respect Cole and asked him to back off because things were gonna get ugly. That’s pretty much confirmed at this point.

he makes freaky drill music
Cole had the foresight to know where this would go, he literally said people wanted to see “blood”. People in this age of the internet are psychopaths that want to see the most heinous things and peoples complete humiliation and abomination
He made the right choice by bowing out but that doesn’t absolve him from not only partially instigating this but also dropping a lukewarm diss track attached to a project and then walking it back live in front of 52k people at his home festival
I think the reception of the track gave him more insight on what this whole thing was about, people wanted to see blood, they wanted to see peoples characters and careers destroyed. I think he had to release the track to understand that reception more intently. So the apology makes sense. It wasn’t a back track, it was logical and wise.

https://twitter.com/fauxfresh/status/1786820634946806243son WHO asked for j cole on a cash cobain song

I can agree with this I think I’m extra annoyed because he’s the one that has been shoehorning this big 3 conversation and basically set off the chain of events in the first place (at least from what we know). He seems like a good dude and is probably friends with both parties and I’ve been there before you don’t really want to get involved

Let’s be honest, this beef isn’t about who’s the best rapper skills wise, it’s about who can “expose” the other worse.
For example, it’s obvious Kendrick is a far more superior rapper than Drake, but let’s say something extremely damning gets exposed about Kendrick, like let’s say he molested a 9 year old or some s***.
Then Drake wins.
I don’t know how old school beefs used to be like in rap, whether it was always about exposing some drama or displaying actually lyrical skill. But in the modern internet age, it’s all about exposing and drama
It’s not that deep. He just didn’t want to be a part of this circus and I can’t really blame him because of threads just like this

You yapping I'm telling u rn
As far as I'm concerned, Cole could have brought so much more in this beef, it doesn't even need him anymore, kendrick covered all those points himself

I mean when it boils down to it it’s always been about exposing your enemy, saying you f***ed their girl, or calling them gay
this s*** is less about who's the best rapper and about exposing dirt and being messy
