I think it would just be covering up a problem. Gun violence is rampant in Chicago and this reflects it. To just say "man quit showing them guns, it normalizes them!" either implies that gun rampant is not already rampant in chicago, or that this is a large contributer to it. Both assumptions are false.
I don't like the music video or the music though, especially its themes.
