nope, started in a tech role (generic) and within that, i tried to get as close to internal projects as i could

once i established myself as someone who could complete technical portions of the projects (or an above average understanding of the ones i couldn't) i focused on understanding the steps that happened on the projects before / after i was pulled in

from there, when i saw an open position as essentially a 'mini' project manager on the same team that was assigning me s***, i went there and worked up to a regular project manager

still don't have any established PM certs, just a decent amount of experience atm
