    Viewing everything through a prism of relatability is narcissistic, I don’t relate to lots of art I enjoy but the emotion or response it inspires is pleasurable or meaningful. Why do I have to see myself in Raekwon to like his music?

    Yea this is dumb, relatability is only an enhancer, not a requirement. Most people like a an artist just because they think that artist sounds good. It’s not deeper than that.

    Depends on the album, TPAB is a prime example of whites not fully being able to really connect with it due to the themes.

    Same with a lot of pro black rap albums.

    i find relating to the essence of kendrick music pretty easy
    mans dropped u and i , most people will be able to relate to that one way or another regardless of race imo
