post Yes Indeed wheezy is easily one of the biggest producer fall-offs ive ever seen
cap, he just had that hit so most rappers just want the same sounding s*** from him since thats the sound thats popping, hes still making goat s*** that doesnt sound generic at all, playing em on his IG lives but rappers aint using them
Bro I was just naming hits which proves he didn’t fall off. He has tons of good quality beats on Drip or down 2 also. Your tripping
im not tripping at all
i could spend hours naming all the classic beats wheezy made before he did Yes Indeed
when one goes through his catalog that follows, yes, you’ll find some great beats, but you’ll find an alarmingly high amount of subpar beats that use the same cheap drums and format topped off with an average sample, and you’ll notice those beats sound very reminiscent of Yes Indeed
listen to some of these like at 8:30, 26min, 30min marks s***s go crazy and theres even more too

cool, youre proving my point that the majority of his placements nowadays are the same-sounding s***

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FERNm8777lkyes those are f***ing heat 100%, but those arent the ones ending up on artist’s albums, the s***ty generic ones are

Where you are wrong is the "cheap drums". When he does make use of simpler/repetitive samples his drums ALWAYS stand out. He's the best hi-hat programmer alive and has basically perfect sound selection. As far as your perceived "subpar"-ness of the beats or w/e, it's probably bc of the song itself not being what you like

yeah but that aint his fault, idk how u can say he fell off since he is still making heat people just use it
both heat
!https://youtu.be/mbsSCJEP7oo!https://youtu.be/fUbUZHBmNTUI love Wheezy prod. but a beat isn't creative just because it got pianos on it
both heat

Hard to say what he actually contributed to this song really since there are like 5 people credited on it, says he did some drum programming
This was such an interesting collab lmao I love this song. Reminds me of the time when Wheezy said Justin Vernon gave him the worst weed ever
I know but the history of this song is insane
Five years in the making with Justin Vernon, James Blake, Wheezy, and almost Frank Ocean working on it
It is a good sample. Might as well discredit Pierre’s entire career too if you think samples are lazy
i don't think samples are lazy, i just think that sample in particular is orangutan cheeks.
