I know the chains stuff with the verse on utopia and all that but

if it was really just a continuation of the Mr. Me too / pusha t saga then

    why does this song exist

is it just an outlier and drake did the verse? or did something happen between this song and the utopia verse?

    He probably sided with push
And pharell probably rejected a drake offer for something and drake got in his feelings as usual

i mean he definitely would side with push, that makes sense, its just interesting drake did the brent record but then went all out at pharrell later on

just goes to show we might be missing some info in this story

He actually chose not to pick sides between Pusha and Drake so I always thought he was cool with him. Pharrell and Drake have always had a lowkey weird relationship though that we will never really know about

As far as I know the first indication of beef between them was on Meltdown, and in hindsight the video for jumbotron may have been the first public display of a problem (I took it as an homage when I first saw it but drake likes those sneak disses). Either something happened behind the scenes which, compounded with Pharrell’s relation to Pusha t, pissed off drake, or drake just kinda changed his mind and said f*** Pharrell despite no actual inciting event between the two (maybe Pharrell being so involved in it’s almost dry was the catalyst, who knows).

It's the autism for sure. He was on stage w metro and future going "Duna da Duna da" and I honestly don't think he knew the song was a drake diss, he just liked the way the soung made his ears feel

He might’ve not heard the Kendrick verse on it at that point or was too stupid to pick up on the lyrics

I’ve been tryna remember the details or if I’m even remembering correctly but I feel like I remember people saying they had tension even when drake did the lemon remix

They are not beefing, it takes two for all that and Pharrell don't do those type things. Drake just been popping s*** at him like Kendrick said and like others have said itt its possible that Pharrell declined Drake in some form or fashion.

If drake beefin with the younger guys its about a girl
If he beefing with the older guys/legends its about respect

He inherited that beef from Birdman and Wayne

    beefing with pharrell is nuts

  • May 10, 2024

They were cool for a long while & Drake is/was a fan

Iirc, it started with Daytona Push & Kanye - i dont think it was before that but I be mistaken

And iirc again, ibthink Drakes sensitive crybaby ass took Pharrell not glazing Drake as an ultimate Goat in his podcast interview show thing as a diss like the crybaby weirdo he is

Jesus he looks like he’s aged 10 years since this

I don't think it was anything personal.

He has honestly just been trying to drag Pusha T back out.

Same thing with that Virgina line.

    Pusha won't take the bait.
