    Nah this a cap

    His debut literally outsold MBDTF

Kanye even said him and Jay Z had to team because Drake was putting pressure on them

    Take Care outsold WTT

This was freshmen and sophomore era Drake

  • Feb 15, 2020

In all seriousness probably 2009 2010

    Realistically around 2012-2013

That’s when he lapped around Kendrick as far as commercial success

He was always more successful than him commercially but when GKMD droppped there was contention on who ran the game & in 2011 Wayne was still bigger. That’s when C4 dropped

Same year u started getting the loosies, I’m on one, etc. so by 2012 he really claimed the position

Drake was powerful for a freshman and new artist

Drake was on hiatus in 2012 when GKMC, he didn’t drop any project even then NWTS demolished everyone in 2013

& that’s when his run realistically started

    Same as 50 with GRODT
    Same as Wayne with C2

Drakes run may not have been as impactful as those guys but it’s def the longest we’ve seen

he shifted gear when started from the bottom dropped

  • Quality-wise So Far Gone, dropped off at Views

In terms of being one of the biggest players in the game, Take Care began the run and it's just been cooling off post-Scorpi Ting.

    TML sold 447K first week
Take Care sold 631K first week
    NWTS sold 658K first week
IYRT sold 535K first week and that was over 3 days (based on how album releases were at the time of release)

Each album has had a top 10 hit on Billboard

The run has been going on since 2010
