Ive never been there (im originally from the bay), but ive had family/friends there.

Not bad like how it was in the 70s to 90s or even the 2000s, but some parts of it still can be & of course there are individuals there that are still willing to f*** with people.

Night time & certain parts are what i heard are the only "truly" bad things.

Outsiders arent welcomed as much either just like in Oakland feom what im told too.

I’m sure there’s still some bad neighborhoods, but in general I wouldn’t worry about random crime happening if you’re just minding your own business and not looking like a lick.

Stories you hear like “tourists randomly being pulled out of cars at gun point” are bullshit/exaggerations. With that being said, there’s really no reason to be in Compton anyway unless you’re linking with people who are from that area. Not much to do there at all
