What age and how successful were you at it?
What job did you work/what was your salary and where do you live ?
How long did it take you since graduating hs?
Left at like 22. Worked 2 different part time jobs. Moved to a place in the same city just with friends
Moved out directly from uni tbh. Was able to extend my halls stay for over 3 months after exams so had cheap accom funded by gov loans letting me save up while I worked.
City I live in is fairly cheap so finding any kind of accom wasn’t too hard, although my situation was easier cos I moved in with wifey so all costs were halved. Rent £350 a month, with bills all living expenses probably about £500-550
I had a basic entry level job not on any grad scheme (initial pay was £17,500 with a take home of like £1,250 a month). Lived in the middle of the city so had no travel expenses to work.
EDIT: also worth pointing out that I did a year abroad on the Erasmus scheme at uni. Living expenses were cheap af and I was full time working rather than doing a study year. Got paid equivalent of about £8-9,000 from the job, had an EU grant of like £4,500 from the scheme, and was able to claim student loan living expenses of about £4,000 for the year too.
Obviously the loan aspect put me further in debt but was a great way to have additional savings, and the loan repayments Here aren’t hard to manage as they are deducted straight from your employer before you’re paid
I don’t consider college or student -apartments as moving out. I moved out at 23 about a year after having my corporate job and living at home
