not the best but i have a lot of nostalgia for 2017 rap. i think it's because thats when i started paying attention to hip hop really.

i have fond memories of albums/moments like

• everyday struggle when it was popping with joe
• tyler coming out as gay
• the whole NATION. debacle
• xxxtentacion freshmen cypher verse
• hearing kendrick on yeah right for the first time
• saturation trilogy
• lil pump mixtape (and the controversy/backlash from oldheads)
• luv is rage 2
• big fish theory
• cozy tapes vol. 2
• (not such a fond memory) death of lil peep
  -guwop losing weight, writing a book & getting married

you may not have liked the music but you can't argue that it was boring or uneventful.

around 2014/2015

after 15/16 is when Rap started going in a very poor direction which totally killed a lot of creativity.

rap grew in popularity but completely went to s*** with quality. last 3 years in hip hop have been utter garbage.
