Man tbh I was a reggaeton/hip hop kid growing up. Moved in with my brother late teens/early 20s and he put me on Strokes. I wouldnt classify myself as a huge fan, don't know many of their albums. But I do know this is the song that got me into them and this album as a whole really opened my eyes (know its a polarizing Strokes album lol) (but damn that Tap Out song is incredible )
the melody during the hook was just so catchy/infectous that it made me come back and back to their old work. Love Is This It, and love a few songs from their next few projects. Love single Julian(11th Dimension!!!) and I also enjoyed the Voidz (Johan Van Bronx has one of the best hooks of all time) and their newest album was cool too. They are a big reason why I'm into rock these days/always looking for new great rock/indie music

When that second hook on Welcome To Japan hit, after the "scuba dancing touchdown" part....
my ears hadn't felt such a sound before.
Wow never knew this was the strokes.
For some reason I’ve had a blind spot to the strokes in my life. But I probably know a handful of songs from them without realizing
