No you can’t. If you try to perform Recovery Mode & Restore, to wipe passcode from the iPhone, then it will go into activation lock.

The only way to remove the activation lock is by the original owner’s Apple ID password or by getting the Proof of Purchase for the iPhone.

You can reset android phones without knowing the passcode by doing a button combination, but they will sometimes have a google lock and you’ll need the gmail password to be able to do anything with it.

iPhones you have to put into recovery mode and then restore but they usually have the Apple lock and you’ll need the iCloud information to get past that.

I work at a phone store, 9 out of 10 iPhones have the iCloud lock on. I’d say around 5 out of 10 androids have the google lock.
