They were all around for Ye and all those other albums but dipped from Jesus Is King onwards. Where did they all go? I know Mike still mixes Ye’s stuff but the rest don’t seem to work with him anymore?
I think they might've had some issues in Uganda in October 2018
Then Ye went to work with Timbaland, his team and some other instrumentalists in Florida in December 2018, and around then he would've met Josh Berg who then brought in a bunch of other engineers to work on JIK
His current ones are hard to find, I assume they're either not allowed to talk about it or just very low key, because I'm not sure if its the same people from JIK recording this new one

I did hear about that. It’s just odd that he made up with Mike but not the others. It’s a shame because he’s worked with a lot of them since the start!

Those guys still talk about wanting to work with Ye on their Instagrams every now and then, I think Ye just moved on and is working with newer, younger guys
I think Ye might've had some of the guys he had recording try to mix/master but ultimately decided on Mike Dean/Jess Jackson and Manny Marroquin to finish the job

That would make sense because Mike and Manny have done it for years! Just seems odd that Ye doesn’t bring these guys back in. He could have the best of both imo. I think a lot of those guys added some of the magic to Ye’s tracks (I believe they have some prod credits as well as engineering/recording?)

Yeah they definitely brought something to Ye records beyond recording, be it mixing/mastering and producing
But it's also cool seeing some new guys on the scene tho that can bring some different ideas to the table

Oh I agree! I just find it crazy all these guys worked on everything from TCD to Ye and then just dipped. Like I see them as much of a part of Kanye West as Kanye himself. If that makes sense? Haha
Young Chop said Ye just goes to "younger artists/producers to use them" wondering if that's true

Wasn’t he just salty about that whole Don’t Like thing?

That kinda insinuates he just takes a hot beat from a producer and raps over it then its done, that ain't really ever been his process not even recently
He had over 30 producers working on JIK for months, and in the end only kept the best of it from 3 of them and had the other ones find samples, and then added his own s*** to all of the beats from the 3 of them that he picked as the best beatmakers, all 3 of which are far from huge names

i mean yes, but they get paid for theire work
Not like he chaining producers and engineers up in a basement

idk, but I feel like that kind of rings true. Lets see Cudi (808s), Justin Vernon (MBDTF), Keef (Yeezus), Metro (TLOP), 070 Shake (Ye), and then Ant Clemons on JIK

yeah but Im saying he works with them on one album, then never does much with them afterwards, more so as a showcase thing for a new artist
Y’all may not believe me but I know someone who was an audio engineer for one kanye west project session in LA. This was after JIK and at that time I assumed it was for Jesus Is Born but who knows. As far as i know he only worked on that one session.

I mean
He worked with cudi post 808s
070 was around for ye/ and yandhi
Keef was on yandhi demos
Ant was on ye(all mine), yandhi , and jik
Metro and justin idk, they both were established before they ever collabed with ye right

When I mean work, I mean a whole album where they are prominent
Its like the opposite of Drake, who always has the same team (kinda) relatively each project, same with Kendrick (kinda)

Oh yeah, that makes sense
Thats why he is able to reinvent himself all the time i guess 🤷♀️
