it's arguably a minor theme (at least in possible interpretations) in some of his music but in his actual public persona (as i said in a different thread) that's definitely never been the case at all. i think some people may have conflated "out of the public spotlight" = "not with celebrity materialism" but the few times frank does rear his head imo the man has not represented himself well lol
