Kanye influence stops with Childish and Drake Type rappers who are 30-35+ themselves at this point

While Wayne is the one to give credit to for the Keef Thug Uzi Carti Type rappers which is the influence you’re thinking of

    So nah lol

Wherever Thug chooses to take it from here.

And he said he's bringing real rap back with his upcoming album "Punk"

On a mainstream scale 6 years later, Yeezus didn’t even have any real “influence” the way that so far gone is directly in the lineage of 808’s

True, however there was definitely some. 808s has a bigger impact, yes, but there are subtle Yeezus influences all over. Specifically in the SoundCloud scene, which is huge, and where a lot of mainstream music comes from now

    what are some you see?

The most I see is the distorted type of production which Travis made accessible for the Trippie/X/ski mask type dudes and likely came from Travis in the first place when Yeezus was being made

distorted s*** was a natural evolution of sgp/raider klan/early soundcloud sound imo, wouldnt credit it to trab

  • Kanye collabd w 6 9 and pump last year to remain relevant

He is no indication of where music goes at this point he’s another follower of the waves 💯

Yeezus came from Travis in the same way 808s came from Cudi imo, so if we give credit to 808s, we gotta give some to Yeezus

I’d say Yeezus was the start of shorter albums being more widely accepted, as well as the raunchy / less serious lyrics, backed with dark beats and distortion.

I’d also say it made people care less about drums, as drums in Yeezus are almost non existent/hardly prominent, save for like 3 tracks.

Especially in the SoundCloud scene, drums are often drowned out in favor of bass or loud vocals, in the same way they were on Yeezus a lot of time time
