  • i figured most of yall have seen the from the block performance by now

i think its an interesting case study in what a white rapper trying to break into the mainsteam will do. i feel like theres two schools you can follow - the jack harlow school where you are like yes im white, be super front facing, kinda make fun of yourself, or the yeat path, where you kinda dont acknowledge it and shroud yourself to add aura and mystique

ian is interesting to me because he outwardly is doing more jack harlow-ish stuff with this video and some of his skits on IG but musically is closer to yeat with the beats he picks being more forward thinking

    what do yall think?

Js but bobbalam claimed he was signed to 4batz management and then he did the same from the block with the same people and then got a Drake co-sign just like 4batz

He gonna continue doing exactly what you said

attempts at a jack harlow type trajectory but on post rage type beats

Lol grand slam his whats poppin

I also already saw a snippet where he was doing yeat 2093 type stuff

I do wonder if he has writers or its all him cause its a good take on yeat type raps without going too street

i honestly think it would work. by him having a “normal dude” aesthetic he avoids the trap that yeat is stuck in to where he cant really make a love song or a song about his upbringing but as long as this guy using the ragey drums and the right sound selection and all the other trendy stuff hes a blank slate to do anything. but that can get old too

The question is will he be able to do that for more than 2-3 projects like harlow has so far

yea i think the big question is how does he get people to genuinely care about him and not just find him to be a novelty. i think hes got as good of a shot as anyone. but thats the hardest thing to do in music anyway

So he just needs to keep the bangers coming like Ice Spice and create his own lane. I don’t see a yeat or Jack Harlow trajectory, I see an Ice Spice trajectory
