Drake for example plays in that exact same league aswell imo, while the mainstream never considers him a great lyricist. Of course an mainly rap focused artist like kendrick gon have a higher average of great lyrical songs than an all round crazy versatile artist like kanye or drake. But compare their lyrical tracks to each other and you will realize that they are probably of around the same quality and also quantity. It’s just that Kanye and drake make so much more music that’s not centered around lyricism.
And thats not even considering artists that clearly put kendricks lyrical ability in the mud like lupe fiasco for example, so where does this deluded opinion come from and why has it become the mainstream opinion?

Only on ktt do people say that. Kendrick stans are mostly into pop so they have no other experience in the genre. They tried to say he made the best jazz album of all time. To say he's the best you'd have to ignore the best MCs of all time like Biggie, Lupe, Andre and so on.
