context: a nigga cat sitting for the homie until sunday and he was like "yo I got game pass, go brazy" and I'm like...sure I'ma just do the spyro and crash remakes cause nostalgia and platformers for the win.
But I saw Psychonauts was on there, and I remember as a kid thinking "this looks kinda weird" but I was all the way in my fighters and rpgs and nba/nfl street zone back then. (also sly cooper, crash, and jak the big 3)
fam.
What a f***ing world Double Fine created yo. I legit find myself laughing at the side dialogues in this s***. I just beat Sasha's boss so I'm nowhere near close to finishing but this game is a f***ing mazing. It saddens me it didn't sell well because the writing on this plot and the way they handle the topic of mental health while still being a fun game.
Is the gameplay smooth? absolutely not s*** can be a mess and I do find myself stuck but I don't be minding it. That's how much I love this s*** lol. Definitely putting this on my list of games I wanna personally cop in the future.
it also makes me glad astrobot won goty cause platformers gotta come back frfr
Just got to milaโs nightmares
What the f*** yo.
reminds me i should go buy it since my game pass expired a while ago and the game is super fun.
I have vivid memories of this game and what I was doing around the because I was obsessed with reading about the game in Game Informer magazine and waiting till the day I finally got it.
Might have to pick this up
Psychonauts 2 a classic as well
also on gamepass @op
yeah its great
went far on it as a kid as a rental from blockbuster for pg xbox but didnt finish it (i stopped at the kaiju level if im not mistaken thats when my week rental was up), beat it as an early adult from playstaion ps+ free games iirc, then beat the sequel a year or two ago on gamepass
i then bought them both digitally just to let them chill with the long overdue support
