Probably would have a career similar to a Joe Budden or Frank Ocean or something.
Maybe signs to a label that doesn’t fully understand him like Kanye does, they market him wrong, then he goes independent and finds his success.
Clearly not saying Cudi Frank and Budden are all comparable but I could imagine Cudi getting frustrated with labels quick in his career if he didn't have the buffer of GOOD. Also it’s ironic that all three artists were on Def Jam/UMG
I love cudi and he had his own style but lol we talking about kanye who made 3 classics before cudi was really a thing for him.
Yall really wildin if you really think its the opposite
Without Cudi every Kanye album would be different
Not so much the other way around
cudi was cudi regardless...would have found a deal somewhere (he had buzz before Ye) and did probably better if he kept some of the records that went to ye or jay...but still probably would have been pretty much the same
808s and that whole direction in Kanye's career wouldn't have happened and we would have had a forced Good Ass Job album revolving around his mom not being able to see him get his good ass job which probably would have been fire
especially from the few leaks from that time between end of 07 and pre 808s sessions

Ye’s co-sign was big for cudi and gave him exposure but cudi still would’ve made it and be a legend
