Hip hop can have many, many colors, -- let's talk for when it gets rough.
Artists can express his emotions, and quite often the better job they do at expressing/trasmitting their emotions to the listener, the more praise they get. It takes skill, and passion, and pour your heart over those lines.
Well, sometimes, tracks go no holds barred.
Song that grab your attention in a chokehold, and don't drop it even a while after the song ended
The first time I listened these two tracks, among the thought "Hoooolllllyyyy shiiiitttt"
There is a quote by Cesar A. Cruz, (Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.), a fascinating idea, at describing something that one maybe struggles to find the words.
Let's talk about two of the vilest, coldest rap songs.
Now that some time passed, from Meet the Grahams' release.
How does it compare with Shady's diss track from about two decades ago?
Would love to hear your thoughts
(PS. Here's the link to the poll)
...
About a day and a half later, currently at:
14 votes -- Meet the Grahams
13 votes -- Kim
PS. also which is creepier, out of the ending of each track?
"BLEEED, B****H, BLEEEDDDD"
or
"YOU LIED... YOU LIED... YOU LIED"
I would say Kim is more upsetting and unsettling than MTG, but MTG is more pointed and purposeful
The coldest/darkest diss song has to be some drill s***
don't run don't trip
meet the grahams fell flat because there is no evidence.
compare this to story of adidon - it was a one shot bulls eye that was disrespectful and did what it was supposed to - it ended the beef.
so I put adidion way higher than whatever MTG was
Tbh I should relisten Kim, but idk I always found it somewhat unlistenable
The subject matter, the delivery, the "message"
It said alot more about him than her tbh
MTG because it’s an actually diss towards someone who can actually fight back
Kim is basically Eminem doing what he does best which is go at women who don’trap, at least Mariah Carey & Candace Owen’s put that little weasel back in his place

This.
Kim is a self diss at Em lmao cause why tf you doing this about the mother of your kid you weirdo.
Has always been a skip even when I was younger. S*** brought MMLP down as far as sequencing goes, they shoulda left it on the backburner.
Eminem admitted that he was on d**** when he wrote the song, which amplified the mood he was in and made the song much more extreme.
He revealed that Kim’s reaction to the song after listening was, “are you f***ing crazy.” He said she also didn’t want to hear it again.
In a 2000 concert, Eminem performed the song with his ex wife in the audience. He had previously promised that the song was not going to be in the concert. During the act, he attacked a doll that looked like her before throwing it into the crowd. Kim left the concert and later attempted suicide.
This.

Yeah even the live performance
As an adult looking back, I mean yeah it's one thing speaking about toxic relationships, but I mean he painted himself as a victim, its 2 sides of a story and when u do s*** like that, u look weird imo too ur also abusive
And mine too, like I loved mmlp and then that s*** came and I was like wtf is this lmao
It's crazy how ppl(specially white folks) praise this song so much but would trash black rappers for the way they talk about women
Made me realize how many ppl are in or romanticize toxic relationships, specially when it comes from a white person
Like I also get that raping ur own mom is posed to be a joke, but ehhhh
I ain't gonna say anything cause idk Eminem like that and since he so private too but he seems like a "character"
Kim is just some really haunting s***.
Meet the Grahams allows for humanity in certain spots.
Kim is just brutal the whole way.
