It's because of Michael his branding ultimately became standard and it ruined the league forever.
When he signed with Nike over converse the official sponsor of the league everyone broke away and decided "I wanna be a brand like MJ"
Before solo brands were deals for tennis players not team sports. People cheer for they favorite players in NBA not teams really.
LeBron switching teams alot and being the face of the league only added to it now you got KD and every player just running round.

Not really. I'd only agree with this once kd joined there was no chance. Warriors are a better constructed team, but I wouldn't say all of them were just better than the cavs best guys.
If I remember correctly cavs were favorites to win in 2015, then klove and kyrie got hurt.
