Drake unironically I remember him getting so much hate for making music catered to women early on in his career but it paid off

a lot of mediocre music that gets radio or viral push will eventually stockholm syndrome me into kinda liking it, just because I can't get away from it and it's not offensive enough to permanently assault me. CLB did that to me

One of the most recent posts in Kendrick thread is this happening to someone (without them realising) for the new Kendrick n keem

Are you stuck in 2011 or something.

I was referring to that era, yeah, but that still stands.
Like, those people are still alive and probably still like Weezy

    thugga?

    Wayne for sure

people forget how much people s***ted on Prime Wayne and instead of appreciating his contributions to rap, they compared him to Eminem and called him a disgrace.

I am glad that history has smiled on Lil Wayne retrospectively but a lot of people were not giving him his props when he was making the most impressive music in his career. maybe i am just thinking of white people though. who knows?

    Lil Wayne probably.
All the suburbanite “real hip hop” fans who hate and bash anything that doesn’t sound dusty have him as their mortal enemy until they grow out of that phase.
Then they see him as the GOAT he is.

    Yeah in 2010

    Like what

I feel like Drake always got more love than hate
he had to amp up the perception of being hated so his fans felt like they were supporting an underdog

even in 2009 in my memory the hate was never insane tbh. not in Real life. As far As I know, people always knew Drake was going to go up and be a major player in the game

just listen to Money to Blow

    it was really written

People don't even remember all the Kendrick hate for his "weird voice"

There were never more real hip hop types than Wayne fans ever. This never happened

Still wish his debut album was Take Care instead of TML. TML has a few bops but the lows really did set Drake back imo and didn’t age well. TC was the one for Drake.

I don’t think there were more of them, but I remember there being a lot.
I’m not dogging Wayne or anything I just remember a lot of guys into rappity rap having to eat their words eventually
