I feel like this a boring thread topic haha I feel like most of us know who the big ones areNah tbh
Y’all’s choices is just boring and mostly bland
Tyler made Eminem music, Pharrell music, Mac demarco music, he never colored outside of any lines
Kendrick really refined the idea of a concept album and is one of the best but similarly, gkmc didn’t break norms but embraced and refined them, TPAB built on the existing jazz rap format
Ye and Drake, yeah probably but they also use a lot of pop tropes
Andre of course that’s given
Butterfly of Digable Planets/Shabazz Palaces went further left than the rest
De La gets credit for being the first group to really color outside the line and be completely unique
S*** I’ll even be slightly boring and give Danny brown some props if y’all seriously sitting here acting like the obvious answers to this question are ye Kendrick and Tyler,
