I only saw his name during like maybe 2012-2013 but always thought he was a weed carrier. How did he get to where he is now?

He never really went anywhere, a majority of people just stopped paying attention. If you look at all of his releases though, he has always had 2-3 big name features since his first mixtape.

Between 2015-2019, he dropped 7 mixtapes and 4 albums, with the 4th album being his most popular. On those mixtapes and albums are artists and producers who were still on the come up (Kodak, Lil Baby, Gunna, 21 Savage, London) as well as established artists (Meek, French Montana, Kevin Gates, Ty Dolla)

By the time those artists on the come up now became the established ones, guess who they turn back to as a thank you. That’s right, Durk.

Everything aligned at the right time, he dropped his 5th album which has 3 headed goat with Lil Baby and Polo G and his career was pretty much revitalized, since it never stopped. Then 2 months later, Laugh Now Cry Later.

The deal with Interscope did wonders and has me excited for Yo Gotti/Moneybagg and CMG
